The Dream Educational Foundation opens doors to higher education through scholarships and grant programs to students and credit union professionals in the communities we serve.
Mission
The Dream Educational Foundation’s mission is to provide financial help to high school students in the community and credit union and Credit Union Service Organizations’ (CUSOs) staff looking to further their education in the accounting and finance sectors.
The Dream Educational Foundation envisions a community where those with the need and the drive have the opportunity to reach their full potential by continuing or participating in higher education. We believe higher education to be a positive change that can enhance the lives of individuals and families.
We see a community that recognizes the importance of education and ensures the doors to higher or post-secondary education are open to those with the potential to succeed.
Criteria
Scholarships and grants are open to high school seniors in the community and professionals from CUA affiliated credit unions and CUSOs that wish to further their education in the accounting and finance sectors. Applicants applying for scholarships and grants are required to provide an application, an essay and two letters of recommendation from faculty, in the case of students, or one letter of recommendation from the applicant’s credit union supervisor or executive, a statement of interest and a professional resume, in the case of affiliated credit union staff.
To ensure an application is considered, the completed application and supporting materials must be received as a package to the Dream Educational Foundation at least 90 days prior to the start of the program for which scholarship and or grant funds are being requested. For high school students, application and supporting materials must be received by March 1st of the year graduation takes place.
